Les Aventures du baron de Münchhausen en 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray en janvier 2023 aux USA

Aux USA, Criterion vient d'annoncer la sortie toute prochaine et pour la première fois en 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray du film fantastique Les Aventures du baron de Münchhausen (1988). L'oeuvre de Terry Gilliam sera disponible en Ultra HD dès le 3 janvier 2023.

Au programme : une présentation en 2160p tirée d'un nouveau master restauré en 4K et approuvé par le metteur en scène. La version originale sera disponible au format DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. Il sera également question d'une présentation en HDR Dolby Vision.

Criterion a confirmé la liste suivante de bonus :

- Audio commentary featuring Gilliam and his coscreenwriter, Charles McKeown
- Documentary on the making of the film
- New video essay by critic and filmmaker David Cairns about the history of the Baron Munchausen character
- Behind-the-scenes footage of the film's special effects, narrated by Gilliam
- Deleted scenes with commentary by Gilliam
- Storyboards for unfilmed scenes, narrated by Gilliam and McKeown
- Original marketing materials including a trailer and electronic-press-kit featurettes, as well as preview cards and advertising proposals read by Gilliam
- Miracle of Flight (1974), an animated short film by Gilliam
- Episode of The South Bank Show from 1991 on Gilliam
